MD State Inspections

The Annapolis Hitch Depot is an authorized Maryland State Inspection Station where you can obtain a Maryland Safety Inspection certificate for titling your vehicle in the state of Maryland. Most inspections can be done within a 4-hour time frame, with some smaller trailers done even faster. If you choose not to get temporary tags, we have a transport tag available for us to pick up your trailer at a nominal fee.

A Safety Inspection is required for all used cars, trucks, tractors, trailers, motorcycles, special equipment, and class "B" for hire vehicles being titled and registered in Maryland. They must be inspected by a licensed Maryland inspection station, such as automobile dealers, service stations, and specialized automobile service centers. A Maryland Safety Inspection Certificate issued by the inspection station within the previous 90 days of the vehicle titling must accompany the Application for Title.

Safety inspections can be performed here for any size or style trailer. Starting as low as $69.95. See below for our prices for your specific type of vehicle

Pre-Purchase Inspection

Purchasing a used trailer can be risky. These problems are compounded if the trailer being purchased is located in another city and is purchased prior to being seen in person. To eliminate much of the anxiety and get an accurate picture of the condition of the vehicle, many buyers choose to have a pre-purchase inspection (PPI) done before the sale is final. A PPI is analogous to a home inspection that you have before buying a house. The report allows you to find out information about your purchase that you might not have known about just by visually looking at your potential purchase.

Call The Annapolis Hitch Depot before you buy any used trailer. We will perform an unbiased inspection and report on the condition of the trailer you are planning to buy. We evaluate all of the major operational systems of the trailer and provide you with an easy-to-read report – making sure you fully understand each point of the evaluation.

We do not recommend or discourage your purchase; we just give you the facts. You will have a better idea of the condition of your prospective trailer. Buyers can use our report to keep from buying a lemon; sellers can use our unbiased report as a sales tool. Remember that the purpose of a pre-purchase inspection is not to repair, but to provide an impartial trailer inspection and help you to make an educated buying decision. We can also include a Maryland State Inspection Certificate for an additional fee.
